The procedure itself is very fast, for example the décolletage can take just 3 minutes of treatment time. Alongside MOXI your appointment may be 1-1.5 hours long including numbing time and depending on treated areas.

Can I combine BBL HEROic with other treatments?

BBL HEROic is easily combined with other Sciton modalities, such as MOXI™ for enhanced results. It may also be combined with other minimally invasive procedures, such as injectables. During your treatment planning session, we can create a plan to address your skin's unique needs.​​​​

Who is not suitable for BBL HEROic + MOXI?

BBL HEROic + MOXI is a highly versatile treatment, however it may not be appropriate if you:

• Have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane/Accutane) within the past 6 months
• Are currently using light-sensitising medications
• Have a photosensitive medical condition
• Have active skin infections, open wounds, or severe inflammation in the treatment area
• Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
• Have Fitzpatrick skin types V–VI (darker skin) without careful assessment, as there is a higher risk of pigmentary changes
• Have had recent intentional sun exposure, are currently tanned, or have traces of self-tan in the treatment area (which can increase burn risk)
• Are unable to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 30 days after treatment
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, due to increased skin sensitivity and precautionary safety protocols

Additional caution may be required for patients with uncontrolled melasma, autoimmune skin disorders, recent laser or resurfacing treatments, or a compromised skin barrier.

All patients undergo a comprehensive consultation and skin assessment prior to treatment to ensure safety, suitability, and optimal treatment planning.

How to Prepare for BBL HEROic + MOXI

Proper preparation helps ensure your BBL HEROic + MOXI treatment is safe, comfortable, and effective.

To prepare for treatment:

• Avoid intentional sun exposure, tanning beds, and active tanning for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment (preferably 3–4 weeks)

• Avoid self-tan and spray tans for 2 weeks before treatment, as traces of self-tan in the treatment area can increase the risk of burns

• Wear broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily in the weeks leading up to your appointment

• Stop retinoids (including prescription tretinoin), exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA/PHA), and strong active ingredients for 5–7 days prior

• Avoid aggressive exfoliation, chemical peels, or other skin treatments for 1–2 weeks before your appointment

• Inform us of any new medications, skin changes, or recent treatments

• Reschedule your appointment if you have an active infection, cold sore, open wound, or significant irritation in the treatment area

• Arrive with clean skin free from makeup, sunscreen, or skincare products

• Use medical-grade skincare leading up to treatment to strengthen the skin barrier, reduce inflammation, and optimise treatment results
