MOXI
Gentle, preventative laser skin rejuvenation to improve tone, texture and early signs of ageing with minimal downtime. For all skin tones, all year round.
MOXI® - Your gateway to resilient, luminous skin
MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative fractional 1927 laser designed to improve skin quality at a cellular level – meaning it uses tiny, controlled beams of laser energy to gently re-texturize the skin without removing the surface layer. It’s ideal if you’re noticing early signs of ageing, uneven tone or texture, congestion, or dullness - or if you’re focused on long-term skin health and prevention.
If your skin feels tired, rough, or less vibrant than it used to, MOXI offers a subtle but powerful reset. It works beneath the surface to stimulate collagen, refine texture, brighten tone, and strengthen the skin barrier - with minimal downtime.
Think of MOXI as future-proofing your skin.
How MOXI Works
MOXI delivers controlled fractional laser energy to the skin, creating microscopic treatment zones that trigger natural repair and renewal. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production while encouraging healthier skin turnover.
MOXI allows us to:
-
Gently resurface the skin without aggressive downtime
-
Improve texture, tone, and clarity at a cellular level
-
Strengthen skin resilience and barrier function
-
Safely treat all skin tones when appropriately customised
Treatments are comfortable, efficient, and designed to support progressive, long-term results.

What Skin Concerns Can Be Treated?
MOXI is highly versatile and customisable, making it ideal for:
-
Uneven skin tone and texture
-
Early pigmentation and sun damage
-
Fine lines and early signs of ageing
-
Enlarged pores and congestion
-
Dull or lacklustre skin
-
Acne-prone skin and post-inflammatory marks
-
Long-term prevention of photo ageing
MOXI for Melasma
Melasma is a complex and often stubborn pigment condition influenced by hormones, genetics, heat, and inflammation. Traditional lasers can sometimes make melasma worse due to excessive heat and inflammation.
MOXI has been shown to be a valuable tool in melasma management when used appropriately. Its gentle, non-ablative fractional energy helps improve overall skin quality, strengthen the skin barrier, and reduce background inflammation - all key factors in controlling melasma long-term.
By working at a controlled, superficial depth, Moxi helps:
-
Break up excess pigment in the skin’s surface layers
-
Encourage healthy new skin cell turnover
-
Improve skin texture and tone over time
At NYAA, melasma is never treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. MOXI can be used as part of a broader treatment plan.
What can you expect?
MOXI feels warm with a light prickling sensation and is generally very well tolerated. Comfort measures are used throughout to ensure a calm, supported experience.
Healing timeline -
-
Days 1–3: Warmth, redness, swelling.
-
Days 2–3: MENDs likely appear; skin may feel rough, dry, or sandpaper-like. MENDs (Mesenchymal ENergy-Derived Stem cells) are your body’s fix-it cells, working behind the scenes for faster recovery.
-
Days 3–7: Pigment may darken, peel, or flake.
-
Week 2+: Skin looks clearer, brighter, calmer.
-
Ongoing: Gradual collagen renewal and tone improvement.
Healing timelines may vary slightly.
Results & Treatment Planning
MOXI delivers gradual, cumulative improvements in skin quality.
For best results, we typically recommend:
-
A course of 2-3 treatments for corrective goals
-
Ongoing maintenance sessions as part of a personalised skin plan
MOXI integrates seamlessly with other NYAA treatments, including BBL HEROic, Regenerative Injectables, and medical-grade skincare.

MOXI FAQs
Is MOXI painful?
MOXI is very well tolerated. Most patients describe a gentle warmth with a light prickling sensation. Comfort measures are used throughout treatment to ensure a calm, supported experience, and topical numbing can be applied for deeper treatments if required.
What downtime should I expect?
Downtime is minimal. Mild redness typically lasts 24–48 hours, followed by a slightly rough, sandpaper-like texture for several days as the skin renews. Most patients can return to normal activities quickly, and makeup can usually be worn within 24 hours.
How many MOXI treatments will I need?
This depends on your individual skin goals. Some patients notice improvement after a single session, however a series of 2–3 treatments is typically recommended for optimal corrective results, followed by maintenance treatments as part of a long-term skin health plan.
When will I see results?
Skin often appears brighter, smoother, and more refreshed within 5–7 days. Collagen stimulation continues over the following weeks and months, meaning results progressively improve over time.
Can MOXI help with acne?
Yes. MOXI can help refine pores, improve congestion, and reduce post-inflammatory pigmentation. For active acne or redness, it is often combined with BBL HEROic or Forever Clear as part of a personalised treatment plan.
Can MOXI be combined with other treatments?
Absolutely. MOXI pairs well with BBL HEROic, injectables, and medical-grade skincare. Combination treatments are strategically planned to enhance and maximise results.
How often can I have MOXI?
MOXI can be performed every 4–6 weeks during a corrective phase, then spaced out for maintenance depending on your skin and goals, typically every 6–12 months or 1–3 times per year.
Is MOXI more corrective or preventative?
Both. MOXI is ideal for early intervention and prevention, while also delivering visible corrective improvements in skin tone, texture, and clarity when performed as a series.
Can I have both BBL HEROic and MOXI if I have darker skin?
BBL HEROic is generally not recommended for darker skin due to a higher risk of pigmentary changes. MOXI alone is usually the safest and most effective option for Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI, as it can be carefully customised to improve tone, texture, and pigmentation while minimising risk.
Can I have both BBL HEROic and MOXI if I have melasma?
Yes - but with careful planning. Melasma is complex and reactive to heat and light, so aggressive treatments can worsen it. At NYAA, we customise settings, treatment order, and skincare protocols to safely combine MOXI and BBL HEROic for melasma-prone skin, focusing on stability, control, and long-term results.
Can MOXI be combined with other treatments?
Absolutely. MOXI pairs beautifully with:
-
SkinPen + exosomes - spaced approximately 2-4 weeks apart for optimal skin repair and rejuvenation.
-
Injectables - MOXI can be integrated safely with regenerative injectables such as Sunekos, Sculptra/Radiesse, Profhilo and Rejuran, Dermal fillers or toxin treatments, with timing personalised to protect your results.
-
BBL HEROic - for the ultimate in light + laser therapy!
Ask us about our combination therapy treatment plans for a fully tailored approach that maximises skin health, texture, and tone. While Moxi is a brilliant treatment on its own, often best results come from a multi modality treatment plan.
How should I prepare for my MOXI treatment?
To ensure safe, effective results:
-
Avoid intentional sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tan for at least 2-4 weeks before treatment. Traces of self-tan in the area can increase burn risk.
-
Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA), and other strong actives for 5-7 days prior.
-
Avoid aggressive exfoliation or other resurfacing treatments in the week leading up to your session.
-
Use medical-grade skincare to strengthen your skin barrier and reduce inflammation, supporting better outcomes.
-
Inform your provider of any medications, skin conditions, or recent treatments that may affect your session.
Who is not suitable for MOXI?
MOXI is not appropriate if you:
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding (precautionary for elective cosmetic treatments)
-
Have active skin infections, open wounds, or severe inflammation in the treatment area
-
Have uncontrolled acne or skin conditions that require stabilisation first
-
Have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane/Accutane) within the past 6 months
-
Are using light-sensitising medications or have a photosensitive medical condition
-
Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring in the treatment area
-
Have had recent intense sun exposure, tanning, or self-tan in the area
All patients receive a thorough consultation to assess suitability and customise treatment safely.
How can I get the best results from MOXI?
-
Complete a course of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal corrective results.
-
Maintenance sessions are recommended 1–2 times per year, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and goals.
-
Consistent sun protection: daily SPF 50+ is essential to protect results and prevent pigment changes.
-
Medical-grade skincare: using high-quality, supportive products before and after treatment helps strengthen your skin barrier, reduce inflammation, and maximise long-term benefits.
-
Follow post-treatment care instructions, including gentle cleansing and avoiding aggressive heat or exfoliation in the days following your session.
