How It Works

Profhilo is made from high-purity hyaluronic acid (HA) with low- and high-molecular-weight chains. This allows the product to spread evenly beneath the skin, stimulating five types of collagen and elastin, improving hydration, elasticity, and firmness. It bioremodels the skin without adding bulk.

How to Prepare for Treatment

To ensure the best results and minimise the risk of bruising or swelling, we recommend:

 

 

  • Avoiding alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and herbal supplements like ginkgo or garlic for at least 48 hours prior. Avoid blood thinners with clearance from your prescriber. Avoid caffeine on the day prior to appointment.

  • Staying well hydrated and keeping your skin moisturised.

  • Arriving with clean skin free of makeup where possible.

  • Ensure skin is free of active infections in the area

  • Discuss any medical conditions with your clinician (you must be physically well for your appointment)

  • If you’re prone to bruising, taking arnica tablets in the days before treatment may help.

What to Expect at My Appointment

 

  • Consultation & Assessment: We’ll discuss your goals and examine your face

  • Preparation: Skin is cleansed; topical numbing cream or TargetCool® COâ‚‚ cooling can be applied

  • Treatment: Profhilo is injected at 10 precise points per treatment area

  • Complimentary LED therapy session

  • Aftercare advice will be given

  • Follow up: we will check in on you the following day & you will return for a review of results 4 weeks after your final treatment. You will be able to see a side by side photographic comparison of your progress

Discomfort Levels

 

  • Mild stinging or pressure at injection points

  • Comfort options: topical numbing cream, vibration tool, stress ball, and music

Downtime & Aftercare

 

  • Minimal; most return to daily activities immediately

  • Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps are normal and settle in 24–48 hours. Bruising is unlikely but may occur. (1–2 days of social downtime)

  • Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, heat exposure, and facial massages for 24-48 hours

Treatment Plan & Results

 

  • Sessions required: Typically 2 treatments, 4 weeks apart. Some patients may choose to have a third session.
