Radiesse can be used in two ways - as a filler or in hyperdilute form, depending on your goals.

• Hyperdilute Radiesse: Focuses on skin rejuvenation rather than volume. When mixed with saline and delivered more superficially, it improves firmness, elasticity, texture, and radiance, and promotes collagen, elastin, and angiogenesis for healthier, more resilient skin.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

To ensure the best results and minimise the risk of bruising or swelling, we recommend:

 

• Avoiding alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E, and herbal supplements (garlic, ginkgo, etc.) for at least 48 hours prior

• Staying well hydrated and keeping your skin moisturised

• Arriving with clean, makeup-free skin where possible

• If prone to bruising, taking arnica tablets in the days before treatment may help

 

 

What to Expect at My Appointment

Consultation & Assessment: Your treatment will be tailored based on your goals and facial anatomy.
Preparation: Skin is cleansed, and a topical anaesthetic may be applied.
Treatment: Radiesse is injected precisely where needed using needle or cannula techniques.

Discomfort Levels

• Minimal to moderate, though the product contains lidocaine for a numbing effect so generally well tolerated.

• Other comfort options include local anesthetic, vibration tool, stress ball, and music

 

 

Downtime

• Mild swelling or bruising may occur for 1–3 days

• Avoid makeup for 12 hours and strenuous exercise, alcohol, or saunas for 24 hours

• Avoid anti-inflammatories (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) for 1 week post-treatment to support optimal collagen stimulation

• Most patients can resume normal social activities quickly
